A half nip of gin, a half nip of blue Curacao, shaken with a little ice, topped with a dash of sweet lemonade and canada dry.
Curse these translations into American.

Generally I'm a straight liquor man. Shot of goldschlagger, amaretto on the rocks. For a mixed drink it's captain and coke.

This time of year ... I love Tom and Jerry's ...
Ingredients
Tom and Jerry
12 egg(s)
1 cup sugar
1 bottle brandy
Pinch of ground allspice
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground cloves
1 bottle dark rum
milk
nutmeg
Glass Type: mug
Instructions
Separate the eggs. Beat the whites until they form a stiff froth, and the yolks -- to which you have added the sugar -- "until they are as thin as water," as the professor advises, gradually adding 4 ounces brandy (spiceaholics will also add a pinch each of ground allspice, cinnamon, and cloves). Fold the whites into the yolks. When ready to serve, give it another stir and then put 1 tablespoon of this batter in a small mug or tumbler. Now add 1 ounce brandy (although some die-hard Dixiecrats prefer bourbon) and 1 ounce Jamaican rum, stirring constantly to avoid curdling. Fill to the top with hot milk and stir until you get foam. Sprinkle a little grated nutmeg on top. This one may require practice and a certain amount of fiddling, but it's well worth the effort. Note: Some people find the milk too rich and filling, so they use half hot milk, half boiling water.
(Of course, you can usually buy T&J mix at the liquor store so all you really need is the rum. *hick*)

Another good holiday drink is Hot Buttered Rum ... yummy.
Ingredients
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 pinch salt
2 quarts hot water
3 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
2 cups rum
1 cup sweetened whipped cream
ground nutmeg to taste
Directions
1.Combine the brown sugar, butter, salt and hot water in 5 quart slow cooker. Add cinnamon sticks and cloves. Cover and cook on Low for 5 hours. Stir in rum.
2.Ladle from the slow cooker into mugs, and top with whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.
(Again, the batter is usually available pre-made at the liquor store.)

For mixed drinks, I'm fond of Bluebeards (1.5 oz of vodka, .5 oz of blueberry schnapps, in a mixing container of ice, then pour into a serving glass after mixing well), or Grog (2 oz water, 1 oz rum, about a tabelspoon of brown sugar, and about half a teaspoon of lime juice, mixed well).

Marlboro is an awesome bartender though we rarely drink, even for new years I'm having coffee and he's having sodas.
the Pineapple Upside-down shot is awesome
equal parts of all three:Vanilla Vodka, Grenadine, and pineapple juice.
If you have the talent to float them and make it a layered shot more power to you, I usually say screw it, make a pitcher of it all mixed together and pour. Much better chilled than over ice but either way its awesome.
I'll try to get him to share more of his faves later!

I woman after my own heart. I keep six liters of that stuff in my fridge. Try adding Canada Dry to it. It tastes pretty good.

I don't drink mixed drinks all that often. I do like a good glass of wine, either red or white. And I'm currently addicted to this beer called Wake 'N' Bake that is put out by our hometown brewery, Terrapin. This beer is dark and rich and made with coffee and has a rich chocolate aroma. LOVE it!!!
