Sarcastic posts????
 

I have enjoyed logging onto Pixies and reading the posts, posting pics, etc. Something has been bothering me though. I have met some really nice people and have got some great advice and so forth. The thing is lately when I have been reading some of the posts that are on here I have noticed that some people feel the need to respond to other peoples posts with very negative and sarcastic comments. I think when people take the time to post for advice, general chat for different views people may have, I don't think it is too nice to open up a thread and see a nasty or sarcastic reply. If a particular post is not of interest to another person then don't bother reading but when you take the time to respond with a nasty comment that is just wrong. I felt bad for someone that was asking for advice and when I read the responses they was getting I thought it was terrible. Just my point of view but if you can't just give a friendly response or constructive critisim with out being nasty then why bother writing a response. It's nice to know that a person can come to pixies and feel comfortable not to be humiliated.

I don't think I know anyone here at pixies, well that sticks around anyway, that purposely is cruel in their posts. Some people are just less serious than others, but I also understand their are people with thicker skin than others. Just have to keep in mind in this community of aquainted strangers that its all in fun and friendship.

Missy~ I hope that you will PM me and point it out to me when you find posts that you feel are inappropriate or mean. I read almost everything that is written on this board and really am not seeing a great deal of what you describe.........

Sarcasm yes!!!! That is how many people face a difficult topic, by using some lighthearted sarcasm. In many instances the thread starter and poster may have a relationship that you may not be away of......for instance Skipthisone and I are often smartassed to eachother in threads but we know and respect eachother.

There have been posters who are intentionally rude and inappropriate but they are quickly handed their hat. No one should be humiliated and if you see posts that you question I hope you will bring them to my attention.

I hope this isn't in reference to what I suspect. You may want to check your Pixie E-mail Missy.

Missy.......I agree with skip, Lilith and Shar.....and whatever PF might have said in PM (cause I know him and you are right...he is very kind). Please PM me if you feel a need. We are a very versatile bunch here.....and in type some words may not come out as they are meant. But the moderators are keeping a close eye on us (cringing at the thought of big brother watching...LOL!) and I am sure that they have only the best interest of Pixies as a "one big happy family" near to their heart!

Yes, that is often the case! Either that or some of us have been here a long time and are very comfortable with other 'long-timers' and feel at ease making jokes or being sarcastic with each other.

You can believe Lilith when she says that inappropriate behavior is NOT tolerated and offenders are quickly shown the door!!
By all means point out to her which posts you find offensive. She'll either explain them or deal with the poster if they are truly offensive.

Preachy pontificators bother me....they are the ones that usually do what they chastise others for doing! BTW I don't mean anyone per say in pixies....just in general! :)

Well my pappa alway used to say (well maybe it was that sex crazed camp counselor *shrugs) where there be vapors there should be some vapo rubbin....and I am just the perv to do it ;)
